I’m in a bit of a bind here. Parked my BMW in Business Bay this morning and when I came back, the car was completely dead – no lights, no central locking, nothing. I managed to get a jump start from a colleague, but now the dash is lit up with warnings and the start-stop system isn’t working, which I know is a sign the battery management system is confused. I’ve heard that BMWs need the battery to be properly registered or coded to the car’s computer when it’s replaced, otherwise it can cause all sorts of electrical issues. I’m looking for a service that can do a proper job with the registration, rather than just swapping the battery and leaving me with more problems. I’ve seen a few options online, including https://batteryzoneuae.com/bmw-battery-replacement/, which seems to offer the full service with genuine batteries and on-site installation, but I’m not sure how long it would take them to get to me in the Business Bay area. Has anyone used this kind of service before and can tell me if they’re reliable and quick? I really need to get this sorted today before I end up stranded again.
