Nepal experiences a diverse range of climates due to its varied geography and altitude. The weather can differ significantly between regions and seasons. Generally, Nepal has four main seasons:

  1. Spring (March to May): Spring is a beautiful time to visit Nepal, with moderate temperatures and blooming flowers. The weather is usually warm during the day, making it ideal for trekking and outdoor activities. However, be prepared for occasional rain showers, especially in late spring.
  2. Summer (June to August): Summer in Nepal is monsoon season, characterized by heavy rainfall and high humidity. While the rain brings lush greenery and fills the rivers, it can also lead to landslides and limited visibility in the mountainous regions. Trekking and outdoor activities are not recommended during this time.
  3. Autumn (September to November): Autumn is one of the best times to visit Nepal. The weather is generally clear and stable, with mild temperatures during the day and cool nights. This season offers stunning views of the mountains and is the peak trekking season in Nepal.
  4. Winter (December to February): Winter in Nepal brings colder temperatures, especially in higher elevations. The days are usually clear and sunny, but the nights can be quite cold. Trekking at higher altitudes may require proper gear to stay warm. However, lower regions, like the Kathmandu Valley, enjoy mild winter weather.

Keep in mind that due to Nepal’s varying elevations, the climate can change significantly within a short distance. It’s essential to check the weather forecast for your specific destination and plan accordingly.
